Does Phillip Dorsett regret re-signing with Patriots last offseason?

Phillip Dorsett spent 2017, '18 and '19 seasons with the New England Patriots, but it seems like everything wasn't all it was cracked up to be for the wide receiver.

The 27-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks this offseason, and Dorsett indicated that he didn't want to make the same mistake he made in 2018... re-signing with the Patriots.

“I could have come (to Seattle) last year, but I chose to stay in New England,” he said via The News Tribune. “I didn’t want to make that mistake again.”

Last season Dorsett reeled in 29 receptions for 397 yards and five touchdowns, which ended up being his best in New England. He seemed to take a back seat to Julian Edelman, N'Keal Harry, and Josh Gordon, so he probably wasn't too pleased with that.

However, he's probably not going to see much more time on the field with Seattle. The Seahawks have both D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett on the roster for 2020, and both will take more snaps than Dorsett.

With Tom Brady off to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dorsett wasn't the only player to sign with a new team in free agency. Kyle Van Noy, Elandon Roberts, and Ted Karras joined former Patriots defensive coordinator Brian Flores in Miami, Danny Shelton and Jamie Collins joined another former Pats defensive coordinator, Matt Patricia, in Detroit and Nate Ebner followed Joe Judge to New York to play for the Giants.
