Detroit Lions Graham Glasgow Would Like 'More Money' in 2024

Detroit Lions veteran offensive lineman Graham Glasgow, returning after a stint with the Denver Broncos, had one of his better seasons in his second opportunity in Motown.

After losing out on a starting opportunity to Halapoulivaati Vaitai, the veteran was outspoken regarding his frustration, especially since he was tasked with playing multiple positions throughout training camp.

Unfortunately, Vaitai's struggles with injury continued again this season, giving the former Wolverines lineman a chance to prove to the current coaching staff what his actual value was.

"I would love to be back. I think I had a really good year, probably top one or two of my career. I would like to make more money than I did this year and I would assume the guys upstairs know and understand that," Glasgow said, via the team's website. "I feel like stuff like this kind of works. Hopefully, we'll be able to work through it."

Glasgow was a key contributor for a unit that significantly aided the offense to be among the best in the National Football League.

Detroit's rushing attack and passing numbers were a significant reason the team was able to win multiple playoff games and were a second half collapse away from playing for a Lombardi Trophy.

"I mean, it’s something to be proud of. I feel like this team has accomplished a lot that hasn’t been done in what feels like forever," Glasgow said. "And like I said, you wish that we could have finished it all and won a Super Bowl and gave the ultimate thing to be proud of, but for everything that happened, it’s a good feeling."

Glasgow appeared in all 20 games and started at left guard, right guard and at center.

Heading into 2024, the veteran is hoping the front office recognizes his value and rewards him with a contract extension that involves more money than his 2023 deal.

Last offseason, the 31-year-old signed a one-year deal that included the opportunity to earn as much $4.5 million, if he met certain markers.
