DeAndre Hopkins Makes Bold Claim On Titans’ Offense
Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans now have one of the NFL’s best wide receiver tandems in DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley, and Hopkins is excited to get on the field and prove it.

While speaking about the Titans’ offense heading into 2024, Hopkins said he is prepared to do whatever is needed and added that Tennessee may reach new heights after the free-agent signing of Ridley.

“I think my game is not just being on the outside, or on the inside,” Hopkins said, via Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official team website. “I’ve tried to take pride in that over the past couple of years, focusing on beating guys on the inside. Earlier in my career I was just kind of really on the outside, and I realized that I could have success everywhere on the field. And I think just utilizing me wherever I am needed, if it is blocking, chipping, doing whatever I need. Wherever I can be useful, that’s where I’ll be. I think the sky is the limit, especially after getting a guy like Calvin. So I am very excited about this offense.”

Hopkins revitalized his career during his debut season with the Titans in 2023, catching 75 passes for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns.

It marked the first time Hopkins logged 1,000 yards in a season since 2020.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was originally selected by the Houston Texans with the 27th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He spent the first seven years of his career with the Texans, making four trips to the Pro Bowl while earning three First-Team All-pro selections.

Hopkins was then dealt to the Arizona Cardinals in March 2020, but he was a massive disappointment with the Cardinals, posting just one 1,000-yard campaign in three seasons there.

Arizona released Hopkins last May, and he proceeded to sign with the Titans last July.

Meanwhile, Ridley is coming off of an impressive 2023 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars in which he hauled in 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight scores.

DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley should terrorize opposing secondaries next season.
