24-year-old wide receiver Davion Davis continues to impress at Cleveland Browns training camp.

Though it seems like he came out of nowhere, Davis was an undrafted free agent in 2019.

He was signed by the Vikings and floated between the practice squad and the active roster during the 2019 season.

Waived by the Vikings in August 2020, Davis never found an NFL home for the 2020 season.

He signed with the Browns on July 31, 2021 after Derrick Willies retired.

Here is what he has been up to since joining the Browns.

Catching Passes At Practice

He has been a solid target at practice.

The question of where Davis fits in the Browns roster is an open one that is yet to be determined.

Some view him as a practice squad member, but could he be more?

Rookie Anthony Schwartz has been injured so Davis could be in competition with him as a wide receiver or on special teams.

Learning From The Veterans

Davis is using his time at camp to pick the brains of veteran wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

Scoring A Touchdown In The Jacksonville Game

Davis played well in the preseason game.

He caught a touchdown pass which caused him to get more attention.

Best Part: His Late Grandmother Predicted It

Davis’s late grandmother Bernice Dunn predicted his success from the time he was born.

“She was the driving force behind me for football and she’s the reason why I’m here today. I promised her that I’d make it here and do everything I can to keep this dream alive.”

“When I was born she told my mom, ‘This is going to be the football player of our family.  And it turned out to be true.”

She died in 2011, but he honored her after his first touchdown.

“It was crazy. That was my first NFL touchdown, so I didn’t know how to celebrate. I just gave my grandma thanks and celebrated with the team. A dream come true honestly.”
