Could Rams Target Jets Veteran Safety Whitehead in Free Agency?
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams will be looking to improve their passing defense in the offseason, and there is no shortage of free agents that could help the team.

In a recent article from Bleacher Report, they outline some veteran free agents that have gone under the radar and one of the players he lists as a potential fit for the Rams.

And they think that New York Jets free safety Jordan Whitehead could be an intriguing fit for Los Angeles.

"Any team that needs a deep defender who can make plays on the ball and has a wealth of experience on good defenses should be giving Whitehead's agent a call," Ballentine writes. "The Los Angeles Rams should be in the safety market since both Jordan Fuller and John Johnson III are set to become free agents."

Whitehead led the Jets in interceptions this year with four and was one of the many bright spots on their defense. If another team takes a chance on the veteran safety, he could shine brighter as a key part of a defense.

Even though Whitehead is only 26 years old, he has been in the league for six seasons, and for every game that he has appeared in except for four games, he has been a starter.

The Rams could really use some help with their secondary, and a veteran like Whitehead could be an intriguing fit for a team that loves signing veterans to help their title chances.
