Commanders RB Brian Robinson medically cleared five weeks after shooting

Just over one month ago, Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson was shot multiple times during an attempted robbery. Now, the rookie has been medically cleared and could suit up for the team's Week 5 contest in six days against the Tennessee Titans.

Robinson was released from the hospital just one day after the shooting. He was shot in the early evening on Aug. 29 in Washington, D.C. in the glute and lower leg when he went out to get something to eat.

A third-round pick out of Alabama, Robinson was off his crutches by early September.

The 23-year-old led the SEC in rushing touchdowns (14) in 2021 and amassed 1,343 rushing yards, 35 receptions, 296 receiving yards and two scores through the air in his final year with the Crimson Tide. In 45 college games over five seasons, Robinson rushed for 2,704 yards and 29 touchdowns, averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
