Chiefs WR had his future predicted by mentalist last summer

Now that the Super Bowl LVIII matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers is set, an old clip featuring Chiefs wideout Mecole Hardman is resurfacing.

The video comes from the New York Jets' appearance on last summer's training camp edition of "Hard Knocks."

Hardman played five games with Gang Green this season before being reacquired by his original team in an October trade.

Magician and mentalist Oz Pearlman was quick to remind fans of the viral moment on Sunday night, soon after the Niners finished off their historic comeback against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game.

There are obviously a couple of things from the summer clip that don't make the prediction a perfect match.

Most notably, Pearlman asked Hardman who he saw the Jets playing in Super Bowl LVIII, to which the former second-round pick answered the 49ers. While Hardman will be playing against San Francisco in the big game, he'll be doing it with Kansas City.

Pearlman's visit with New York was just weeks before quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with what turned out to be a season-ending Achilles injury in the first contest of the year, dooming the Jets from the start. Head coach Robert Saleh's group finished the campaign 7-10 to extend the franchise's postseason drought to 13 years.

The fifth-year pass-catcher finished his Jets career with only one catch for six yards on three targets in his five contests before going back to Kansas City. Hardman added 14 receptions for 118 yards and no touchdowns on 21 looks in six games with Patrick Mahomes and company this season.

He's had just two rushing attempts for -5 yards and two catches for five yards on four targets in the playoffs this winter while losing a costly fumble in the divisional round against the Buffalo Bills. Hardman played only one snap vs. the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Interestingly, his 31-21 score prediction in the Super Bowl is eerily close to the final of the Chiefs' title game victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, 31-20.
