Amidst the seemingly never-ending list of hurt players, sick players, and Reserve/COVID-19 list players there is finally some good news. The Bears activated Elijah Wilkinson from the Reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of their Monday night matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Bears put Wilkinson on the Reserve/COVID-19 list a few weeks ago. He suited up in eleven games for the Bears in 2021 and after Jason Peters got hurt, the offensive line definitely needs his services. The Chicago Bears need as many healthy bodies as possible considering their absolute decimation lately.

The NFL already postponed three games in week 15 and the Bears matchup with the Vikings is definitely in danger of postponement. Both organizations are in enhanced COVID-19 protocol and the number of Bears players already out is quite staggering.

The Bears activated Elijah Wilkinson just in time. They have a chance to right the ship as they play on Monday Night Football and get the extra day to get as many players back as possible. Whether or not they get to that point is the real question. Matt Nagy’s record against the Vikings is generous and kind while Kirk Cousin’s record on primetime is not. Could this be another abysmal showing for the Bears on national television?
