Chargers News: LA FA Receiver Meeting With Division Rival
USA TODAY Sports

There are still a number of free agents who last suited up for your Los Angeles Chargers and are still in search of where they will be playing next season. Among them is WR DeAndre Carter who logged just one season with LA in 2022.

Carter has been on five NFL teams since entering the league in 2018 and now could potentially make that six. Almost two weeks into free agency, it has been reported by the NFL's Jordan Schultz that he is garnering interest from multiple franchises and is set to see with the Las Vegas Raider on Friday.

"Source: WR DeAndre Carter is visiting the #Raiders today. The #Chargers’ FA comes off career-bests with 46/548/3 and was a special teams ace as well. Carter’s market is heating up, with a few other teams in the mix as well."

It was tough for Carter to get a ton of production considering that the Chargers had better options in Mike Williams and Keenan Allen but he still had his best numbers of his career in the 17 games he suited up. The 29-year-old recorded 538 yards with 46 receptions and 29 first downs.

However, with LA already having a set wide receiver system and also some prospects catching their eye in the upcoming draft, they probably do not view Carter as a huge priority to re-sign. The Raiders could look to steal a player from their division rival and give newly-signed QB Jimmy Garoppolo another option.

It seems like there is something about the West Coast that Carter really enjoys. Prior to his stint in Los Angeles, he played college football at the California State University of Sacramento. He is now looking to possibly touch down in Las Vegas.

This wouldn't be the first time that the Raiders are interested in signing a former player of the Chargers and fans have been having a field day with the news on Twitter.
