Cardinals retain 12-year special teams veteran, LS Aaron Brewer

After re-signing punter Blake Gillikin to a one-year contract, the Arizona Cardinals have confirmed another piece of their special teams is doing the same.

A veteran of eight years with the Cardinals and 12 in the NFL overall, long snapper Aaron Brewer will continue to represent Arizona as he has signed a one-year deal to stay.

Out of San Diego State, Brewer was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He would play 64 games across four seasons (2012-15), including when the Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl L.

On March 16, 2016, Denver released the 33-year-old a bit over a month after Brewer became a Super Bowl champion.

About a week later, Brewer signed with the Chicago Bears but was released without making an appearance.

Since Sept. 28, 2016 though, the California native has been with the Cardinals.

Battling through injuries and being released before coming back, Brewer has dealt with adversity throughout his long NFL career.

In total, Brewer has played 115 games as a Cardinal while flinging the ball toward punters like Gillikin.

Long snappers don’t normally record statistical markers but he has 11 tackles.
