Cardinals designate RB Chase Edmonds to return from IR

Arizona Cardinals starting running back Chase Edmonds is on the mend.

The 25-year-old landed on injured reserve after suffering a high-ankle sprain early in the team's Week 9 win over the San Francisco 49ers and has missed each of the last three games. In nine games this season, Edmonds ranks second on the team in rushing attempts (76) and rushing yards (430), while adding 30 receptions on 37 targets for 211 additional yards.

2018 Pro Bowl running back James Conner has taken on a nearly every-down role over the past month with Edmonds out of action, and in his first season in Arizona, the former Pittsburgh Steeler leads the squad in carries (166) and rushing yards (630). He's also tied for second in the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns. Entering Week 14, Indianapolis Colts second-year stud Jonathan Taylor has rushed for 16 touchdowns, while Joe Mixon of the Cincinnati Bengals is tied with Conner for 12 scores on the ground.

The Cardinals (10-2) take on the Los Angeles Rams (8-4) in Week 14 on "Monday Night Football."
