Canton, Ohio to host 2019 NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft, which was held outside of New York City this past year in Chicago for the first time since 1965, may be continuing its trend of rotating cities.

Canton, Ohio, home of the NFL Hall of Fame, is making its case to the NFL to host either the 2019 or 2020 NFL Draft, according to David Baker, the president of the Hall of Fame.

“I can’t guarantee it’s going to happen,” Baker told the Canton Repository. “But we’re gonna fight awful hard for this thing.”

Bringing the NFL Draft to Canton is certainly an exciting prospect, but there may be some logistical problems. The Canton Convention Center is an aging building in need of renovation, and with a population of approximately 70,000 residents, there may be some questions as to whether the city of Canton could handle the large influx of people that comes with the NFL Draft.

Still, having the NFL Draft take place at the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame would be a sight fans would love to see.

The 2016 NFL Draft will once again be held in Chicago.
