Building the Board: Defensive Tackle Prospects for the Bears
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears defensive line is in a good spot with a nice mix of youth and veterans. But you can never have enough defensive linemen. With the departure of Justin Jones, the Bears need to add at least one defensive tackle this offseason. While an addition like Chris Jones would be welcomed, it may not be realistic. This means the Bears will likely add some defensive tackle depth in the 2024  NFL Draft.

On Tap Sports Net's Building the Board scouts Ron Luce and Quinten Krzysko dove into the defensive tackle position. You can tune in on Apple, Spotify, or YouTube!

Chicago Bears Defensive Tackle Prospects

The Bears will likely add at least one player at the defensive tackle position through the draft. So let’s break down a few of their potential targets.

Since the end of the regular season, the Building the Board team has worked hard to build a draft board for the Bears. This board accounts for scheme fit, draft preferences from previous classes, and positional needs.

Our scouts have been reviewing the players available in the 2024 NFL Draft with the goal being a final top 100 draft board for the Bears. In the latest podcast installment of Building the Board, we discussed our next batch of players with some offensive tackle prospects for the Bears to consider. I should note that the players aren't in any specific order. This is simply the order in which they are discussed on the podcast.

What's On Tap Next?

We'll share our initial draft board when the paint dries on some of our grades. We currently have roughly 50 players graded but need to return to the tape on more than a few of them. Look out for future podcast episodes as we plan to knock out two positional breakdowns per week. Next up, Tom Kavanaugh and Steve Letizia examine EDGE rushers! And if you missed any previous installments, you can find them here!
