Buccaneers Re-Sign Long-Snapper
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they have re-signed long-snapper Zach Triner . Triner was an undrafted free agent in 2015. After spending time with the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers, Triner landed in Tampa in 2019.

Via buccaneers.com’s Scott Smith,

“On Friday, the Buccaneers struck a new one-year deal with Zach Triner, who has handled the team’s long-snapping duties for most of the last five seasons. Triner had become an unrestricted free agent last week.”

Newly hired Bucs special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey now inherits all three specialists from the team’s 2023 roster. Kicker Chase McLaughlin signed a three-year deal earlier this offseason and punter Jake Camarda is still under his rookie contract. Now with Triner returning, the kicking unit is full and ready for McGaughey’s tutelage.

Triner is the 10th of a potential 18 pending free agents from the 2023 roster re-signed. That list is below.

Zach Triner, Punter
Chase McLaughlin, Kicker
Lavonte David, Linebacker
Justin Skule, Tackle
Baker Mayfield, Quarterback
Mike Evans, Receiver
Antoine Winfield Jr, Safety, (Franchise Tag)
John Wolford, Quarterback
Chase Edmonds, Running Back
Greg Gaines, Defensive Line

Yes, the Bucs haven’t made many outside big-splash free agent signings aside from Jordan Whitehead. But with the ability to keep this much talent, the future is looking bright fir the Pewter Pirates.
