Bruce Arians: Buccaneers QB Tom Brady 'one guy you don’t have to worry about'

Offensive guru Bruce Arians stepped down as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to become a senior advisor with the organization this past spring but was spotted counseling individuals such as quarterbacks Tom Brady and Blaine Gabbert during summer practice sessions.

Arians guided Brady and the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl LV win over the Kansas City Chiefs in February 2021 and can boast that he knows plenty about the 45-year-old signal-caller who temporarily retired this past winter and then enjoyed an 11-day break away from the club this month.

Some have openly questioned if Brady is truly "all-in" on the upcoming season considering all that's happened since late January, and Arians was asked during a Tuesday appearance on ESPN's "First Take" if Buccaneers fans should be concerned about the G.O.A.T. heading into what may be his final season as an active player.

"No, not whatsoever," Arians responded during the televised segment, according to Adam London of NESN. "Watching him at practice every day, he’s throwing the ball better than he has in like 10 years. When he’s on the practice field, the energy level in the whole building goes up. Not worried about Tom. He’s one guy you don’t have to worry about."

The Joe Bucs Fan website reported back on Aug. 19 that one Buccaneers coach speculated "that Brady might miss Arians' constant feedback and how Arians interacted with him" now that former defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is serving as head coach.

"Nobody talks to Tom the way Bruce does," the coach added at that time.

Perhaps Arians is assisting Brady behind the scenes more than outsiders know ahead of Tampa Bay's Week 1 matchup at the Dallas Cowboys scheduled for Sept. 11.
