Browns WR Elijah Moore seems to take another shot at Jets

Wide receiver Elijah Moore is now with the Cleveland Browns but still seems to have the New York Jets on his mind.

"Yeah, man, to hear that positivity, as far as speaking on my name, I can’t do anything but feel blessed to be in the opportunity that I’m in right at this moment," Moore said at organized team activities, per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "Feels good to be wanted and it’s going to make any player, any human, go harder when you feel like that and you feel like you’re around people who want you to be here. So I’m going to give it all I got every single day."

Moore seemingly complained about a lack of targets in October before he reportedly requested a trade from the Jets later that month. The Jets held on to the 23-year-old through the completion of the campaign. He finished with 37 catches for 446 yards and a touchdown, but New York then traded him to the Browns in March.

Following the transaction, Moore noted he was on track to play with "a legit quarterback" in Cleveland's Deshaun Watson. That, of course, was when the Jets had Zach Wilson and not Aaron Rodgers atop their depth chart at the position.

Moore made it known he expects to produce better overall numbers catching passes thrown by Watson this fall.

"That’s why I came here and if you’re not thinking like that as any player, then you have the wrong mindset," Moore explained. "...Obstacles come just like how I handled last year and I felt like it only put me in a better position to go through life, let alone football now. So from this point on, I’m looking to be a better human being, a better football player, better brother, whatever it is. I love football. That season didn’t just affect football, it affected my life, whether it was good and bad. So I’ve got to learn from it."

The Browns are pursuing more than just a playoff berth with Watson available for an entire season after he served an 11-game suspension last year related to allegations of sexual misconduct during massage sessions. Moore could be in for a breakout campaign if Watson returns to the form that made him a three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Houston Texans.
