Browns QB Jacoby Brissett: 'I just want to go out there and continue to be the teammate that I am'

Deshaun Watson's initial six-game suspension was nearly doubled to a still much-criticized 11-game punishment on Thursday, and the Cleveland Browns are still apparently going to "stick to" their "plan" of starting Jacoby Brissett at quarterback in the meantime.

Brissett, who has played in 60 games and made 37 starts over his six-year career with the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins spoke Friday about the new opportunity that awaits him.

The 29-year-old evidently wants to focus on not only helping his team win but staying true to himself as well.

Across his 60 contests, Brissett has recorded a 60.2 completion percentage for 7,742 passing yards, 36 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He's added 178 rushing attempts for 653 yards and 13 touchdowns as well.

In 11 games (five starts) with the Dolphins in 2021, Brissett posted a career-best 62.7 completion percentage for 1,283 passing yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions, while adding 19 carries for 70 yards and one score as well.
