Browns O-lineman misses NFL's top 100 after top five positional ranking

NFL Films began releasing its Top 100 players from the 2022 season on Monday and one of the Browns best players just missed the cut after being ranked as a top five player at his position.

Guard Joel Bitonio ranks No. 106 on the NFL's Top 100 players just a couple weeks after executives, players, coaches and scouts ranked him as the fifth-best guard/center in the NFL.

The 6-foot-4, 320 pound offensive lineman allowed just one sack in 2022, according to Pro Football Focus, and played a large role in Cleveland's 2,490 rush yards, which was sixth-best in the league.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski knows how special the veteran is and doesn't take him for granted.

"Joel is somebody that constantly, in game, in practice, is doing it exactly the way you want it done. ... He's done it at a high level for a very, very long time," Stefanski told reporters. "I see a very, very complete player and a great person off the field as well. He's a huge part of what we do. He's a huge leader for this football team."

Bitonio missing on the NFL's Top 100 players certainly feels like a snub given his 2022 season and career as a whole.

Maybe if he can help the Browns make the postseason for the first time since the 2020 season or even make a run to the Super Bowl, he will gain the respect he deserves a year from now.
