Browns Hire Ken Dorsey As Offensive Coordinator
Jamie Germano/Democrat and Chronicle / USA TODAY NETWORK

There is a new offensive coordinator in Cleveland as the Browns have hired Ken Dorsey, according to reports.  Dorsey was most recently the OC for the Buffalo Bills before being relieved of his duties during the season.

It appears that Cleveland jumped at the opportunity to hire Dorsey. Cleveland interviewed Kellen Moore last week, with Moore eventually joining the Philadelphia Eagles. With options beginning to run out, they were up against it, trying to find someone to bring on to their coaching staff.

There are going to be a lot of discussions about what Dorsey can bring to Cleveland’s offense, and that is fine. However, it must be mentioned that Dorsey was not able to work with a superior quarterback in Josh Allen. This is very concerning, considering the issues the Browns have with Deshaun Watson. Cleveland does not need someone to come in and take over a well-oiled machine. The Browns need someone to fix Watson, and that is far from an easy task.

The pressure is going to be on Dorsey and Watson, as well as head coach Kevin Stefanski. Clevleand’s offense with Watson has been very pedestrian and has not inspired a ton of hope for their future. There are other pieces on the offensive side of the ball to rely on, but everything is going to come down to Watson actually playing at a high level, a possibility that appears less and less likely as time goes on.
