Browns at risk to lose key defensive coach to another AFC team
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

In the NFL, you have to worry about keeping players and coaches every offseason. For the Cleveland Browns, they’ll have to do some of both over the next couple of months.

One coach that could be on the way out is defensive backs coach Brandon Lynch. Lynch reportedly interviewed for the open defensive coordinator job with the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans just recently hired now former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan to be their next head coach. Now, it appears that Lynch is one that they are interested in joining their team.

Lynch has been with the Browns since 2020 and held the title of assistant defensive backs coach for the first three seasons with the Browns. This past season was his first leading the position group.

Cleveland’s defense is led in large part by a very good defensive back unit. Denzel Ward, Martin Emerson Jr., and Greg Newsome II lead that group and it is one of the best in the NFL.

Lynch got into coaching in 2013 and had spent most of his time at the college level before joining the Browns. Other teams have taken notice of the job that he has done in Cleveland and he may just be on the brink of earning his first coordinator job.
