Broncos’ Brandon McManus not a fan of NFL’s contingency plan
Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus don't like the NFL’s contingency plan. Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

An NFL season without bye weeks? Not if Brandon McManus has anything to say about it.

The Denver Broncos kicker did not think much of the NFL’s reported contingency plans in the event that the coronavirus pandemic forces schedule changes to the 2020 season.

It’s another reminder that this is going to be difficult. Remember, players wanted another bye week as part of moving to a 17-game schedule. That move won’t happen next season, but it’s a reminder of how much they value their rest while playing a physical, punishing sport.

The NFL will hope they don’t have to use these contingency plans. They have to prepare for the worst, though, no matter what players may think.
