Former Chicago Bears linebacker, Brian Urlacher, was on The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday. They talked about life after football and how closely Urlacher is to the game after his career ended.

Pat McAfee asked Brian what his relationship was like with the Chicago Bears. Urlacher responded by saying that he spoke to Matt Eberflus and that the Bears’ head coach reached out to him.

The Chicago Bears appear to be actively trying to repair relationships with former players and coaches. They had Rod Marinelli in-house during the mandatory minicamp on Tuesday.

Urlacher also told McAfee that he’s visiting Chicago this upcoming weekend.

Brian Urlacher On The Bears’ Defense: They Will Play HARD

Urlacher told Pat McAfee that he really likes Matt Eberflus’ lineage. Coming from the same system as Rod Marinelli, Urlacher knows that the Bears’ defense is going to play very hard in 2022.

Rod Marinelli spent three seasons as the Bears’ defensive coordinator from 2010 to 2012. That was Urlacher’s final season in the NFL. But having played with Marinelli’s oversight, Urlacher knows the system quite well.

The Bears’ defense ranked in the top 10 in multiple categories under Marinelli’s supervision. Brian Urlacher believes that style of defense transfers to Matt Eberflus.

If Matt Eberflus’ defensive scheme for the Chicago Bears 2022 season gets Brian Urlacher’s stamp of approval, then we’re in for a fun season.
