Brandon Marshall Reveals Surprising Choice For The Worst Quarterback He Ever Played With

His reasoning is that Cutler had so much potential and yet didn’t see much success.

“The worst quarterback that I played with–and listen, just understand that there was so much potential … was [Jay] Cutler,” Marshall told host Sean Evans. “Jay Cutler should’ve won a Super Bowl. Jay Cutler had everything that it took to be one of the most legendary quarterbacks. And so, I would say Jay Cutler because he didn’t reach half of his potential.”

To be fair, Marshall isn’t saying Cutler was a bad quarterback, but his demeanor often rubbed people the wrong way. Some think it got in the way of winning. During his time in Chicago, Cutler threw for 23,443 yards with 154 touchdowns and 109 interceptions. His best finish was an NFC Championship Game appearance in 2010, but the team lost to its hated rival, the Green Bay Packers.

This statement shocked some because of some of the quarterbacks Marshall caught passes from. That list includes Chad Henne, Matt Moore, Jake Plummer, Bryce Petty, and a young Geno Smith . What we see here is frustration from Marshall. He isn’t mad that Bryce Petty couldn’t lead him to a Super Bowl. The Cutler-led Bears had lots of talent on both sides of the ball and yet could never put together any real runs.

Marshall is known for his hot takes in his post-football career, but this one was one of the more shocking ones.
