Bills QB Josh Allen has major admission about Ken Dorsey's firing

For as much talent as the Buffalo Bills offense has, the unit has clearly underachieved this season and is partially to blame for losses in three of the team’s last four games.

Buffalo’s disappointing 24-22 loss to the Denver Broncos on "Monday Night Football" was the final nail in the coffin for offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, who was fired less than 24 hours later — something star quarterback Josh Allen admitted he’s taking pretty hard.

“Without a doubt (Dorsey would still have his job if we played better), and I take that very personally," Allen told reporters on Wednesday. "It hurts a lot to see someone you care about go through a situation like that and to know that if I could have done more, if this offense could have done more, we wouldn't have had to do something like that.”

Under Dorsey’s guidance, Allen looked off his game for much of this season. Yes, he leads the NFL in touchdown passes (19) and has the fourth-most passing yards (2,600), but he also leads the league in turnovers (14) and interceptions (11).

The Bills have also had issues scoring points when it matters. In their wins, they average 32.2 points, but that number falls to 20.2 points in their losses. They’ve scored just four touchdowns in the first quarter this year, and 60% of the time, they don’t score their first touchdown until approximately five minutes into the second quarter.

“It's an unfortunate series of events that have led up to (Dorsey’s firing),” Allen added. “But again, as much as you can sit here and feel sorry for yourself and you can sulk on what's going on, we got a game to prepare for. It's four days away, so we can't pay too much attention to it.”
