Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah pumps up crowd of fans by ripping off knee brace

C.J. Uzomah's status for the Super Bowl is still in question after the Cincinnati Bengals tight end suffered a knee injury in the AFC Championship, but he's promising to do everything he can to play Sunday.

"It's the Super Bowl. I'm doing everything I can," Uzomah told reporters Monday. "I'm not missing the biggest game of my life. I'm not missing it. If I wake up and I'm like, 'Oh man, it's a little sore,' it doesn't matter. Right when I get in that building, right when I put my feet on the ground, it's go time. Let's get this rehab going. Let's do everything I can to make sure that I'm ready and available to play, so that's kind of where my mind is."

Later that day, Uzomah went to a Bengals rally and stood on stage with a knee brace while his teammates addressed the fans. When it was the tight end's turn to talk, he ripped his brace off and tossed it off the stage, garnering a loud cheer from those in attendance.

Uzomah, 29, hasn't practiced since suffering the injury and is currently listed by the Bengals as questionable for the Super Bowl. He finished the 2021 regular season with career highs in receptions (49), receiving yards (493), and touchdown receptions (five).
