Bengals confirm alternate white helmets for 2022 NFL season

The Cincinnati Bengals recently delighted fans with a conference championship and a trip to Super Bowl LVI, where they fell to the Los Angeles Rams but also showed they can, without a doubt, hang with the league's best teams on the sport's biggest stages.

Cincinnati offered supporters a different type of gift ahead of the weekend.

Per ESPN's Ben Baby and Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the Bengals unveiled alternate helmets that will be used for at least one game during the upcoming campaign. White is the primary color for the helmet that also features black stripes, a black facemask, and an orange team logo:

According to Baby, the Bengals' current primary orange helmet with stripes has been utilized since 1981.

The Bengals are following in the footsteps of teams such as the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Carolina Panthers that have taken advantage of an NFL policy permitting clubs to use secondary helmets. Such helmets can be worn with alternate, retro, or league "Color Rush" uniforms.

A team spokesperson said the Bengals are expected to announce when they will wear their white helmets this coming season at some point next week. It wasn't said if those helmets will be sold in team shops and/or online during training camp and the preseason.
