Arizona Cardinals release veteran wideout

Kyler Murray will have a new wide receivers group to work with when he suits up next season. While star WR DeAndre Hopkins said recently he was hearing his name involved in trade talks, the team's first move in the receiving group was to release a veteran wideout the team picked up last fall.

The Cardinals released Chosen Anderson — you may know him better as Robbie Anderson — on Wednesday.

The Carolina Panthers moved Anderson to the Cardinals after they fired head coach Matt Rhule, receiving two late-round picks for the veteran wideout. Anderson's time in the desert was a quiet one, and he finished out having logged seven catches for 76 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Anderson caught one touchdown pass and recorded 206 receiving yards last season with the Panthers.

The Cardinals will save some cap space with the move and should have around $16 million before free agency, barring any additional trades.
