Agent Drew Rosenhaus: Antonio Brown does not have mental issues
Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The Oakland Raiders could be working toward getting rid of Antonio Brown and voiding his contract, which is something his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is trying to avoid.

Rosenhaus conducted an interview with NFL Network’s Stacey Dales from Soldier Field on Thursday night. Rosenhaus told Dales that his focus is on trying to repair the relationship between the Raiders and Brown.

“They’re trying to work through their relationship with him. We’re trying to work through this. The goal is to work everything out,” said Rosenhaus. “My objective is to get things worked out between Antonio and the Raiders so he can fulfill his contract and do what they brought him in to do. I don’t think it’s too late to salvage that relationship.”

Rosenhaus has not lost faith in Brown’s ability to be a positive contributor to the Raiders.

“I believe he wants to be an Oakland Raider. I believe he wants to play. I believe he’s going to have a great season,” Rosenhaus said of Brown. “I believe some things that happened were outside his control. The foot injury was not his doing. The helmet we tried to address that professionally, we got it worked out. I think moving forward, everything can work out. We’ve had some bumps in the road.”

Dales also asked Rosenhaus about Brown’s mental state. Many people have wondered whether Brown is unstable based on how he has behaved in training camp this summer

“I have no doubt in my mind about that,” Rosenhaus told Dales regarding a question about Brown’s mental state. “I don’t think there is any issue in that capacity. We have had some obstacles through training camp, but Antonio is fine. He’s great and he is going to continue his career.”

The latest report about Brown says the receiver will not play in Week 1 on Monday night. It is unclear whether the Raiders will suspend Brown or keep him inactive.
