49ers WR Jauan Jennings shares message with fans after reflecting on 2023 season and Super Bowl LVIII loss
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, a former Tennessee Vols standout, took to social media this weekend to share a message with fans after taking a few weeks to reflect on the 2023 season and his team's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.

Jennings posted a message on Instagram expressing how grateful he is to have played in a Super Bowl, while also acknowledging how much he hates to lose.

"Every game while I'm putting on my pads has became nothing but a routine in my life," wrote Jennings. "I’ve always had one thing on my mind, and that’s to win. It is literally hard to think about anything else. It scares me and it drives me to be the best you can possibly be for when the time comes. I always knew that this was 'just' a game, but I always knew one day it could be the way I change my family’s life forever. To play in the Super Bowl is something other worldly for me to describe. The fans, the coaches, the stadiums, and this team is a dream come true! To PLAY in the Super Bowl means everything to me and I know it does my family. Thankful for it all. This season was the best year of my life and also the worst. Because we lost. Anyone who knows me, knows when the times come. Let’s ball. Off season finna be a blast."

Jennings can be described as the ultimate competitor. He plays every snap like it's his last. And he does whatever he can to help his team in every situation. He's not the fastest guy on the field and he's not the most athletic, but he's carved out an important role on one of the top teams in the NFL because of the incredible effort he gives on every play.

The former Vol is set to be a restricted free agent when the new league year begins in March. The 49ers, however, are expected to bring Jennings back (possibly via a contract extension).

Based on Jennings' message that he posted this weekend, it sounds like San Francisco is exactly where he wants to be for the 2024 season.
