49ers-Packers: Jauan Jennings gears up for return from concussion protocol

Jauan Jennings couldn't hide his joy as he discussed his eagerly anticipated return to the football field. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver last played on December 17, when he suffered a concussion.

Having spent weeks in the concussion protocol, Jennings finally returned to practice last week. He admits that it was difficult watching his teammates battle for playoff positioning without him.

"Very, very, very frustrating having to be in the box and watch the game," Jennings shared. "But no longer. So I'll be out there this Saturday. Can't wait."

The 49ers secured the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye, providing valuable rest for players recovering from injuries, including Jennings. The receiver acknowledged that the extra rest has been beneficial compared to previous years when the 49ers had to fight from the start of the playoffs.

Comparing this season to previous ones, Jennings noted, "I was just coming out of the protocol, so it's still different just because I'm coming out of the concussion protocol. It's not the same. Last year, I was just ready to go straight into the playoffs. This week, coming back, we had the bye week, [which] gives us extra time to get ready, and I think it definitely was useful."

Jennings expressed confidence that rust won't be an issue for himself or his teammates, declaring, "Oh yeah, we're ready. We're ready. No issues."
