49ers’ Nick Bosa Doesn’t Hold Back On Super Bowl Rematch With Chiefs
Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Four years ago, Nick Bosa and the San Francisco 49ers were preparing to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, but Bosa was preparing in a different capacity.

The star defensive lineman was not available for Super Bowl 54 due to injury, and he had to sit and watch his team lose to the Chiefs by a score of 31-20 in Miami Gardens.

Well, now, here we are, heading into February 2024, and Bosa and the 49ers are once again getting themselves ready to take on the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

But this time, Bosa will get a chance to make an impact on the field and will have the opportunity to help San Francisco achieve some revenge.

“It’s perfect,” Bosa said, via 49ers Webzone. “And they’re as great as an organization, coach, quarterback as there is. And they were down, not looking great this year either, and they’re playing their best ball now, so it’s going to be a big challenge.”

While some things are different, like the Niners being led by Brock Purdy rather than Jimmy Garoppolo and Tyreek Hill no longer running routes for the Chiefs, many things remain the same.

Patrick Mahomes is still under center for Kansas City. Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan remain the respective coaches for the two sides. Guys like Travis Kelce, Chris Jones and Deebo Samuel are still around.

But one of the key distinctions is a healthy Bosa, who racked up 53 tackles, 10.5 sacks, a couple of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery during the regular season and just logged a pair of sacks in the 49ers’ thrilling comeback victory over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game.

Plus, this San Francisco ballclub seems quite a bit more talented than the previous iteration, and Kansas City isn’t quite as loaded offensively as it was several winters ago.

So perhaps Nick Bosa and the Niners will be able to exact some revenge in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
