After tearing his ACL late in the 2022 season, Jordyn Brooks entered the final year of his contract looking for something to prove. The linebacker easily exceeded expectations, overcoming his short recovery time to start in 16 games while recording a career-high 4.5 sacks, 111 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, five quarterback hits, and one interception. The Seahawks themselves got off to a hot start before faltering down the stretch and missing the playoffs.

Jordyn Brooks first entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Seattle Seahawks, the Texas Tech product began his career as a backup. Appearing in 14 games while making six starts, the rookie finished his inaugural season with 57 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and two passes defended. The Seahawks won the NFC West but, despite their 12-4 record, were unable to go on a deep playoff run.

Brooks earned a starting job in his second year in the league. Starting in all 17 games, the former first-round pick recorded one sack, 184 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, three quarterback hits, and five passes defended. However, with Russell Wilson battling injury, the team went 7-10 and missed out on the playoffs.

Seattle traded Wilson in the following offseason, but Brooks and the Seahawks remained competitive. With Geno Smith leading the way, Seattle made it back to the playoffs with help from Brooks. Starting in 16 games, the linebacker recorded one sack, 161 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, three quarterback hits, and five passes defended.

Since signing his rookie contract, Jordyn Brooks has appeared in 63 games while making 55 starts. While on the field, the Texas Tech product recorded one interception, 16 passes defended, 6.5 sacks, 513 tackles, 23 tackles-for-loss, and 11 quarterback hits.
