Why Is This Recent Golden State Warriors Player Still A Free Agent?
USA TODAY Sports

JaMychal Green is coming off a year where he played for the Golden State Warriors

The 33-year-old appeared in 57 regular season games and averaged a productive 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 54.0% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range.

In the NBA playoffs, the Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings (seven games) in the first round but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second rounds (six games).

Green played in seven out of their 13 NBA playoff games, and he had 15 points (on 6/9 shooting from the field) in Game 2 of the second round.

This summer, Green became a free agent, and he still remains available to be signed by any team in the league on October 6.

Considering Green is a solid veteran and played his role well for the Warriors, it's surprising that no one has signed him with training camp already underway around the NBA.

The first game of the 2023-24 regular season will be on October 24, so Green will be a name to keep an eye on over the next few weeks.

In addition to Golden State, he has also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs.

Over nine seasons, Green has career averages of 7.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 47.7% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 544 regular season games (he has also appeared in 56 NBA playoff games).
