Jordan Poole's tenure with the Golden State Warriors has come to an end. Recent reports detailed a rift between the 24-year-old and some of his former teammates. However, Steph Curry didn't show any signs of bad blood, as the Warriors star shared a farewell message to Poole via his Instagram stories.
“Just want to say JP how much I appreciated the four years, brother. You’re a champion,” Curry said. “You grew up right in front of everybody’s face. That first year, it was rough with a lot of injuries, and trying to find your way, to going to the G League and coming back, and helping us finish 15–5 that second year, us winning a championship your third year and fighting to the end this past year. … I can’t wait to see you shine in your own situation."

Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards as part of the deal that sent Chris Paul to Golden State. Washington hit the reset button on its roster, trading away Bradley Beal, Paul (whom they acquired for Beal) and Kristaps Porzingis. As such, Poole will likely be among the primary options for the Wizards next season.
Being a young player on the Warriors is a difficult task. You're surrounded by future first-ballot Hall of Famers who expect to compete for titles. The majority of the offense is run through Golden State's championship core. The younger players, who are trying to develop their skill sets and become impactful options within the rotation, have to get in where they fit in. Poole's trade to the Wizards could be the best thing for his career.
Throughout the past two seasons, one of the biggest criticisms regarding Poole's game was how often he would opt to shoot rather than pass. By being put in a situation where he can develop his game while refining his shot selection, Poole will now have his chance to grow into a lead guard. There will be times when Wizards fans grow frustrated with his limitless confidence, and there will be moments when Washington's coaching staff grows tired of his loosey-goosey shot selection.
However, Poole is a potential All-Star talent, and now, with an opportunity to take center stage, the young guard could be headed for a breakout season.
