The Timberwolves are signing small forward CJ Elleby to a training camp contract, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Elleby, 22, is 6-foot-6 and was selected by the Trail Blazers with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He spent the past two years with the Blazers, averaging 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 58 games last season.
Per Scotto, Elleby will receive a chance to compete for a standard contract and regular spot on the Timberwolves’ roster.
Minnesota has had a fairly notable offseason, trading for Rudy Gobert and signing the likes of Austin Rivers, Kyle Anderson and Eric Paschall in free agency.
