This Clippers star is ready to put the NBA on notice

Paul George is ready to dominate for the LA Clippers next season. The veteran wing has struggled for fitness recently, playing in just 151 regular-season games over the last three years. However, George wants to remind everybody what he's capable of on the court.

When speaking to Deyscha Smith of SLAM Magazine, George revealed his desire to reassert his dominance in the NBA.

"Every night I’m on the floor, I’m there to dominate," George said. "Whether it’s [being] more physical, or going right at whoever I gotta go at, you’re gonna feel me. I’m having that approach of every time I’m on the floor, I’m there to dominate and destroy you."

George is seen as one of the most talented players in the league. A fierce defender who can also score across all three levels on the offensive end. When at his best, the eight-time All-Star is arguably a top-five forward in the NBA.

It's that level of talent that led the Clippers to pair him with Kawhi Leonard in the first place. Unfortunately, injuries have derailed Steve Ballmer's desire to begin winning championships. Now, George wants to rediscover his mean streak in order to become successful and help raise a banner for the Clippers.

"I just had a mean mentality when I was younger. And that was just how I approached the game. I think I fell away a little bit from that mentality. And so again, all of it is just trying to be back, centered [and] to where I was when I came into this league."

Availability will play a big role in George's desire for a championship. George and Leonard must remain healthy if the Clippers want to compete with the best teams in the league. Otherwise, any bump in production from George will be a wasted effort, and at this late juncture of his career, that might not be worth it.
