The Details of Dalano Banton's Contract with Celtics Revealed
USA TODAY Sports

On Jul 3, the Boston Celtics signed six-foot-nine point guard Dalano Banton to a two-year deal with a team option for the second season.

The former Toronto Raptor produced 4.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in the 2022-23 campaign.

The 23-year-old has shown flashes as a scorer and facilitator, including registering 11 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in 19 minutes in a matchup vs. the Milwaukee Bucks near the end of last season.

Two days earlier, he generated 10 points in four minutes against Boston in a performance that clearly stuck with his new team.

In Banton's two Summer League games, he averaged 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists. While he didn't shoot the ball well, converting on only 32.3 percent of his field goal attempts, including 23.1 percent of his 6.5 tries from beyond the arc, and committed two turnovers per contest, he consistently got into the paint.

And as noted after his Summer League debut, he showcased a two-footed floater from within there that could prove a valuable tool for him to have in his bag.

On the heels of Summer League's conclusion, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports Banton's two-year, $4.2 million deal with the Celtics has a partial guarantee for the 2023-24 campaign and the 2024-25 season, with the latter also having the previously mentioned team option.
