Should the Milwaukee Bucks take a flyer on Bol Bol?
USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks already have one unicorn on their squad in two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Can they possibly add another in 7-foot-2 forward, Bol Bol? With the Orlando Magic waiving the son of former NBA big man Manute Bol, the opportunity is there for the Bucks to pounce and acquire the lanky big man.

Oozing with potential

At just 23 years of age and four seasons of NBA experience under his belt, Bol is a prospect that’s oozing potential. The Magic acquired Bol in a trade with the Denver Nuggets in February 2022 and then signed him to a two-year, $4.4 million deal last offseason. He suited up in 70 games this past season and was given substantial minutes during the early part of the season.

He responded well and averaged 12.1 points on 58 percent shooting, including 38 percent from the arc. He also grabbed 7.1 rebounds and blocked 1.6 shots before his opportunities dwindled down the stretch.

Is there room on the Bucks?

The Bucks have reportedly re-signed Brook Lopez and Jae Crowder and signed Robin Lopez to bolster their frontline. They also will return Giannis Antetokounmpo and, presumably, Thanasis Antetokounmpo in the frontcourt.

However, Bol could still find a role in Milwaukee as an energy big off the bench. His ability to block shots, run the floor, and hit from downtown would be great for new coach Adrian Griffin's system. If he can continue to add strength and adjust his game, Bol could still carve out a role on the Bucks next season.
