Sabrina Ionescu-Stephen Curry three-point shootout 'very likely' back in 2025, but with a twist

As the NBA insider noted, the 2025 NBA All-Star weekend will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, where Curry and shooting guard Klay Thompson will play with the Golden State Warriors.

Ionescu has spent her entire four-year WNBA career with the New York Liberty but grew up in Walnut Creek, California, in the Bay Area.

Caitlin Clark has taken the sports world by storm during the last two seasons while suiting up for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Clark — who has led Iowa to back-to-back Final Fours and set numerous records — is widely expected to be selected by the Indiana Fever with the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Curry and Thompson have been arguably the best pair of three-point shooting teammates in NBA history, helping lead the Dubs to four championships. The "Splash Brothers" have been playing together since the 2011-12 season, Thompson's rookie campaign.

"I'm told Steph Curry has specifically brought up potentially having Klay Thompson in this competition for next year. Could a guy like Damian Lillard be a candidate as well to join Steph Curry?" Charania said. "But (Curry and Thompson) potentially against Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark, those are all conversations that are going to continue to go on in the coming months and as we get into the 24-25 season."
