Reports: Spurs trading F Doug McDermott to Pacers
Daniel Dunn-USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana Pacers are acquiring forward Doug McDermott from the San Antonio Spurs, ESPN and The Athletic reported Thursday.

San Antonio will receive forward Marcus Morris Sr., a second-round pick and cash in the deal, per The Athletic's report. Morris is expected to be bought out by the Spurs.

This will mark McDermott's second stint with Indiana. He played there from 2018-21.

McDermott, 32, came off the bench in 46 games for San Antonio this season. He is averaging 6.0 points and shooting 43.9 percent from 3-point range.

In 637 career games (94 starts) with the Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Pacers and Spurs, McDermott has averaged 9.1 points and 2.2 rebounds. He is shooting 41.2 percent from long range in his career.

The 34-year-old Morris was traded from the 76ers to Indiana earlier Thursday as part of a package that sent Buddy Hield to Philadelphia.

In 37 games (seven starts) with the Sixers this season, Morris averaged 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds. He has played for seven teams in his NBA career, sporting averages of 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 820 games (509 starts).
