Raul Neto is returning to the Washington Wizards, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. No terms of the deal has been revealed. But, his addition is much needed.

Despite landing Spencer Dinwiddie in a sign-and-trade, the Wizards had a glaring need for a backup point guard. Neto addresses that need.

Neto signed a one-year deal last season with the WIzards. He appeared in 64 games, the most games he played since his rookie season in 2015-16 while with the Utah Jazz. With the Wizards, he averaged a career-high 8.7 points while shooting a career-best 46.8% from the field.

Raul Net, 29, was the third point guard on the depth behind Russell Westbrook and Ish Smith when all were healthy. Neto saw a good amount of time playing off the ball next to Westbrook and/or Smith. Now, he will get the chance to run the second unit as the primary ball-hander.

The Wizards now have five guards with the addition of Neto. Three-time All-Star Bradley Beal will lead backcourt along with Dinwiddie. Behind them will be Neto along with two new additions, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Aaron Holiday.

New head coach Wes Unseld Jr. will have the option to mix and match the five at different spots in games.
