Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram To Miss At Least Two Weeks With Knee Injury
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram will miss at least two weeks with a left knee bone contusion, the team announced in a press release.

Ingram suffered a hyperextended knee during the Pelicans’ road loss to the Orlando Magic on Thursday. New Orleans officials said he will be reevaluated in two weeks, so he may be out even longer.

The Pelicans (42-27) entered the night having won seven of eight.

Ingram needed to be helped off the court by teammates, creating some concern that the injury could be season-ending. Fortunately, it seems like he could be back before the playoffs. Or at least for the playoffs.

“Hopefully, there’s nothing wrong with him,” guard/forward Trey Murphy III told reporters on Thursday night.

Coach Willie Green said immediately after the game that he had no updates.

Ingram, 26, is averaging 21.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists, shooting 49 percent from the field and 36 percent on 3-pointers in 62 games.

New Orleans sits in fifth place in the Western Conference standings as of Friday, 1.5 games ahead of the Dallas Mavericks.
