Pat Connaughton returning to Bucks on three-year, $16 million deal

The Milwaukee Bucks are hoping that Giannis Antetokounmpo will decide to stay with the club past the 2020-21 season. In order to help ensure that happens, general manager Jon Horst is doing everything in his power to make the Bucks a better team for the upcoming campaign.

Horst already has made a number of moves, but his latest deal, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, has been given to Pat Connaughton, who signed a three-year, $16 million extension.

Connaughton spent the last two seasons with the Bucks. During the 2019-20 campaign, he averaged 5.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from deep.

The 27-year-old was a second-round pick by the Brooklyn Nets in 2015, but he never played a game for the team. He was traded to the Trail Blazers as part of the Mason Plumlee deal and spent three seasons in Portland before moving to Milwaukee.
