Pacers fire Nate Bjorkgren as head coach after just one season

The Pacers finished ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 34-38 record, their worst finish since the 2014-15 campaign. They then went on to lose to the Washington Wizards the play-in tournament. 

Bjorkgren took over for Nate McMillan last October. Wednesday's news comes after multiple reports cast doubt on his future in Indiana. Wojnarowski reported last month that Bjorkgren had "significant work to do with his relationships among players throughout the team and with some members of the organization."

The Athletic's Shams Charania and Sam Amick later detailed how Bjorkgren's management style became problematic and caused tension in the locker room. 

The Pacers are expected to show interest in former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts as their next bench boss, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

It's unclear whom else the Pacers may target. However, it's almost certain that they hire someone with an entirely different management style than Bjorkgren.
