New Orleans Pelicans Sign Recent Chicago Bulls Player
USA TODAY Sports

Malcolm Hill is coming off a year where he played in five games for the Chicago Bulls.

In addition to his time in the NBA, he also played in the G League for the Birmingham Squadron and Windy City Bulls.

The 27-year-old averaged 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 40.5% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 17 regular season games (he also appeared in 15 Showcase Cup games).

This summer, Hill was a free agent, and he has now signed a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Via Pelicans.com: "The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed forward Kaiser Gates to a two-way contract. Additionally, the Pelicans signed guard Malcolm Hill, center Trey Jemison, guard/forward Tevian Jones, guard/forward Landers Nolley II and center Liam Robbins. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed."

Hill initially went undrafted in 2017 after four seasons of college basketball playing for Illinois.

In addition to the Bulls, he has also spent time with the Atlanta Hawks.

Over three seasons in the NBA, Hill has career averages of 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 46.4% from the field and 35.9% from the three-point range in 24 games.

As for the Pelicans, they are coming off a year where they were the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 42-40 record.

They lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the play-in tournament, so they missed the NBA playoffs.
