NBA unveils new postseason trophies honoring Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Bob Cousy, Oscar Robertson

The NBA unveiled on Thursday new awards trophies honoring iconic players Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Bob Cousy and Oscar Robertson.

The new trophies, which are awarded to players and teams for their accomplishments in the postseason, were crafted by Tiffany & Co.

The new conference MVP trophies have been fittingly named after Bird and Johnson, who were figureheads in growing the NBA's popularity in the 1980s and early '90s.

"Larry and Magic defining the '80s and having that bicoastal relationship representing their conferences like no other two people have," Christopher Arena, the NBA's head of on-court and brand partnerships, said via ESPN. "We just thought it was a perfect symmetry as you percolate up to the NBA Finals and you potentially win that Bill Russell Trophy, and obviously the winningest player we have in our history."

In addition to the newly redesigned conference trophies, the Larry O'Brien Trophy is also getting a makeover.

To promote the trophy's remodeling, the league also posted a video to show the process and to hype fans up for the upcoming NBA Finals.
