Milwaukee Bucks Reportedly Sign 20-Year-Old Guard
USA TODAY Sports

Jazian Gortman was not selected in the 2023 NBA Draft last month but played in the Summer League with the Milwaukee Bucks.

On Tuesday, Keith Smith of Spotrac reports (h/t RealGM) that Gortman will sign with the Bucks for training camp.

Via Smith : "The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Jazian Gortman to a training camp contract, a league source told  @spotrac."

This past year, Gortman played for Overtime Elite and averaged 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.5 steals per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field.

In the Summer League, the 20-year-old played five games and averaged 4.8 points and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 41.7% from the field (he only averaged 9.1 minutes of playing time).

At such a young age, Gortman could be a good player for the Bucks to take a chance on.

Teams often sign a player to join them for training camp and then have him play for their G League team during the regular season.

If that is the case with Gortman, they could have him play for the Wisconsin Herd or sign him to a two-way deal.

As for the Bucks, they are coming off a season where they were the first seed in the Eastern Conference and had the best record in the NBA (58-24).

That said, in just five games, they were upset in the first round of the NBA playoffs by Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat

The franchise has made the postseason for seven straight seasons and won the NBA Championship in 2021.
