Los Angeles Lakers G League Team Made A Trade
USA TODAY Sports

Devin Cannady spent last year with the South Bay Lakers (G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers).

He averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 41.8% from the field and 36.5% from the three-point range in 31 regular season games (he also appeared in 17 Showcase Cup games and one G League playoff game).

On Monday, the South Bay Lakers announced that he has been traded.

Via The South Bay Lakers: "The South Bay Lakers have acquired a first and second-round pick in the 2024 NBA G League Player Draft from the Delaware Blue Coats, it was announced today. As part of the transaction, South Bay sent the returning player rights to Devin Cannady to the Birmingham Squadron."

Cannady played his college basketball for Princeton and went undrafted in 2019.

He has played in 13 NBA games (with the Orlando Magic) over two seasons and has a career average of 6.5 points per contest while shooting 36.1% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range.

The 27-year-old has played four years in the G League and has career averages of 13.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 42.2% from the field and 38.4% from the three-point range in 99 regular season games.

This offseason, Cannady signed a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans but was waived, so he will now likely play for the Squadron (G League affiliate of the Pelicans).

As for South Bay, they finished last year with a 21-11 record.
