Lakers cancel practice after Talen Horton-Tucker tests positive for COVID-19

The Los Angeles Lakers were forced to cancel their Tuesday practice due to the NBA's health and safety protocols. It was later learned that shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker tested positive for COVID-19 when members of the team were directed to take two tests — a rapid and a PCR — ahead of their flight to Dallas.

Los Angeles is currently scheduled to play the Dallas Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday on ESPN. The Lakers are then slated to travel to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday and wrap up their three-game road trip on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA has already pushed the start time of Sunday's Bulls-Lakers game from 2:30 p.m. CST to 7 p.m. CST.

Horton-Tucker is in his third NBA season, all spent with the Lakers. In 86 career games, including 17 starts, "THT" has averaged 9.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 21.1 minutes per contest.

The 21-year-old is currently posting career-highs in points (11.3), rebounds (4.5), assists (2.9), steals (1.3) and minutes (28.8).
