Lakers Address the Errors on Kobe Bryant Statue
USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this week, the news that Kobe Bryant's statue had several spelling errors went viral. These errors included the names of Jose Calderon, Von Wafer and the phrase "coach's decision" being spelled wrong.

The Lakers organization has addressed that these errors on the statue will be fixed. They released a statement that said, “We have been aware of this for a few weeks and are already working to get it corrected soon,” via The Associated Press.

The errors were spotted just over a month after the Lakers unveiled the statue in honor of the late superstar on Feb 8 in a special ceremony. In attendance at the ceremony were numerous current and former NBA players. Phil Jackson, Derek Fisher, Jeanie Buss, Kareem Abdul-Jabba and his widow, Vanessa Bryant, each gave speeches to honor the five-time NBA champion before they unveiled the statue.

The statue features Bryant holding his finger in the air after his 81-point game. There will also be two more statues of Bryant outside of the Crypto.com arena, including one with Bryant and his late daughter Gianna.
